Moodboards & Selections
Selections Managed, Decisions Made, Allowances Protected
Ask any project manager what stalls a remodel and the answer is rarely lumber — it's a homeowner who can't pick a faucet. Selections are where schedules die. A client facing forty tile options and a Pinterest board full of contradictions will freeze, second-guess, and change their mind after rough-in. Every one of those stalls costs you weeks and goodwill.
Our moodboards exist to collapse that chaos into a decision. Instead of infinite options, your client sees two or three professionally curated directions — cohesive palettes of real, in-stock products that already fit their allowances and your supplier relationships. Choosing between three good answers is easy. Choosing from the entire internet is impossible.
Behind the boards sits a full selections schedule: every finish, fixture, and hardware item the job needs, specified with model numbers and priced within budget. Decisions get made before demo, documented in writing, and locked. When a client signs off on a board, they're signing off on the whole room — which is how you finish jobs on the schedule you promised.

What's included
Built to close jobs, not win design awards.
Curated Directions, Not Catalogs
Clients receive two or three cohesive design directions instead of endless options. Constraint is a service: it converts an overwhelmed homeowner into a confident decision-maker in a single meeting.
Every Item Fits the Allowance
Boards are assembled inside the budget you set. If the tile allowance is $8 per square foot, nothing on the board costs $22. Clients choose freely because every choice is pre-approved math.
Complete Selections Schedule
Beyond the pretty board: a line-by-line schedule of every selection with manufacturer, model number, finish, and price — the document your PM orders from and your client signs.
Real, Available Products
We spec items that are actually purchasable through your suppliers or major distributors, and we favor in-stock lines. A gorgeous board full of discontinued tile is worthless; ours are buildable.
Change-Order Prevention
Signed selections before demo mean mid-project pivots become formal change orders instead of arguments. The paper trail protects your schedule and your margin.
Branded for Your Sales Process
Boards carry your logo and templates, ready to present at the design retainer stage. Many contractors use a moodboard as the first paid deliverable that converts a lead into a committed client.
How it runs
From intake to sell-ready.
Share the Client's Taste
Send whatever exists — Pinterest boards, magazine tears, a voice memo of the client rambling about their sister's kitchen. We translate raw preference into design direction.
Set the Allowances
Tell us the budget per category. Those numbers become hard constraints on everything we curate.
We Curate the Boards
Our designers build cohesive direction boards with real products, then back them with a complete selections schedule.
Client Picks, Signs, Done
You present the directions, the client chooses, and the signed schedule locks every finish before demolition starts.
Questions
Before you ask.
What's the difference between a moodboard and a selections schedule?
The moodboard sells the vision — a composed visual of the palette, materials, and key pieces. The selections schedule executes it — a line-item document with model numbers, finishes, quantities, and prices your PM can order from. Every package includes both.
My clients change their minds constantly. How does this help?
Indecision usually comes from too many options and no framework. Curated directions give clients a bounded, professional choice, and the signed schedule creates a formal moment where deciding ends. Changes after that point become priced change orders — which makes people decide.
Can you work with the suppliers I already use?
Yes, and we prefer to. During onboarding you tell us your showrooms, distributors, and preferred brands; we curate from that universe first so your purchasing relationships and contractor pricing stay intact.
What if a client hates all the directions?
It's rare when the intake is honest, but revisions are part of the package. We take the specific rejections as data — 'too cold, too busy' — and re-curate. A miss with feedback beats a client staring at samples for six weeks.
Do moodboards work for spec homes and flips where there is no client?
Extremely well. For flippers and builders, boards become buyer-facing marketing and the selections schedule becomes a repeatable finish package you can price once and deploy across multiple properties.
